Optimization can be defined as maximizing the amount of hits your website gets
when certain Keywords are typed in a search engine. This will help by giving
the company/brand the numbers they need to know to either continue on their
path that they have their website on or if there are changes that that need to
be made to make their search options better.

Google Trends Insights:
For the search words Coca-Cola and Pepsi this
is what I found.When looking at one point near the beginning of the year, Pepsi
was increasing the search engine whereas Coca-cola seems relatively stable through out. When comparing them, it
is clear the pepsi is doing more to get hits on search engines and its working.
There is a significant discrepancy
between the data which also shows a lot about what people are drinking
in Canada. More and more people are looking for the less sugary options here in
Canada which Pepsi is capitalizing on.

Summary
Coca –
Cola’s strengths are that they are already a well known brand that don’t really
need as much exposure with anything fancy. Everything on the website was simple
and easily accessible. To the point and straight forward. With pepsi the emphasize on the social media that they are one,
include numerous videos and pictures. Clearly they are going for brand
awareness and they are achieving that.
Conclusion:
I would say
that Pepsi has the strongest SEO as even shown on the google trends analysis.
They want to increase their brand awareness and they did that. They were
successful in optimizing their website to link their customers with their
products and social media. Through this they were able to increase their brand
awareness which = success. Coca – Cola on the other hand didn’t perform as
well.
